2012 PGA Tour Predictions

2012 PGA Tour Predictions Image

At the top of every year, optimism and anticipation for the months that follow flow a plenty, and this year is certainly no exception for the PGA Tour.  There are endless questions flowing into this season- Will Tiger finally win again?  Will the European dominance continue?  Will Rickie Fowler ever win on the PGA Tour?  Who will make the Ryder Cup teams?  Did Robert Garrigus set a world record in length differential by switching from the world’s shortest putter (28 ½ inches) to a long putter?  Will Webb Simpson ever finish out of the top 5?  I could go on and on about questions both real and funny, but regardless how you look at it, it’s going to be a great year.  For now, how about some predictions sure to go wrong (just for fun as always): Tiger will win a PGA Tour event, in fact he’ll win two, but no majors…yet.  Phil will win one tournament again and hibernate for the rest of the season.  Rickie Fowler will finally snag his first PGA Tour win, as will fellow Oklahoma St Cowboy and Tour rookie Peter Uihlein.  Last year the major scene was dominated by non-Americans until Keegan Bradley swooped in and won the PGA Championship.  This year, the Americans will resurge with Bubba, Webb, Keegan, Stricker and Hunter leading the charge, and I expect 3 of the 4 majors to be won by Americans. Also, red, white and blue will prevail in the Ryder Cup at Medinah in September with revenge and momentum on our side.  So, sit back, buckle up and get ready to enjoy the action.  It’s going to be a great 2012 everyone.
